Student Killed

A student died after a shooting near the UK campus early Friday morning. Police say they responded to a shots fired call along the 400 block of East Maxwell Street, near Transylvania Park, just after 2 a.m. When officers arrived, they found a man in the street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officials say EMS took the victim to UK Hospital where he died. tudents sitting on a nearby porch say they heard gunfire, then saw a two students running toward them.  Police have not released any information about the events the led up to the shooting, nor have they identified the victim.
