Talk Veuve to Me Wins at Keeneland

(Keeneland)–Team Valor International, trainer Rodolphe Brisset and Stephen McKay’s Talk Veuve to Me made a successful return to the races Thursday by leading all the way to win the featured $85,000 Man o’ War Purse for fillies and mares by 2¼ lengths over Treble before a crowd of 9,388. Ridden by Julien Leparoux, Talk Veuve to Me covered the 6 furlongs on a fast main track in 1:11.24. The victory came in her first start since finishing sixth in last October’s Juddmonte Spinster (G1) here.

Winner of the Indiana Oaks (G3) and runner-up in the Acorn (G1) and Eight Belles (G2) last year, Talk Veuve to Me is a 4-year-old Kentucky-bred daughter of Violence out of the Point Given mare Biblical Point.

A Keeneland sales graduate, Talk Veuve to Me increased her record to 8-3-3-0 and boosted her earnings to $408,067 with Thursday’s $51,000 check.

Talk Veuve to Me, the 1-2 favorite, paid $3, $2.40 and $2.20. Treble, ridden by Irad Ortiz Jr., returned $5.60 and $3.60 and finished a head in front of Awestruck who paid $2.60 to show under Brian Hernandez Jr.

Racing continues Friday with a 10-race program highlighted by the $300,000 Maker’s 46 Mile (G1) for 4-year-olds and up racing on the grass. First post time is 1:05 p.m. ET with the Maker’s 46 Mile going as the ninth race with a 5:30 p.m. post time.

The seventh race, with a 4:24 p.m. post time, is the inaugural running of the $100,000 Limestone Turf Sprint.

On Friday, Keeneland will offer a Pick 6 carryover of $30,108.
