Kentucky will get a million dollars in federal funds to enhance unemployment insurance programs and reduce worker misclassification. The U.S. Department of Labor says the money will help the state ensure payments are there for those who are eligible and will provide steps to reduce and recover improper payments. Half the money will go to identify instances where employers improperly classify employees as independent contractors or fail to report the wages paid to workers.
