Woman Charged with Robbery

Lexington police have charged a woman accused of robbing a hotel. Police say Kristen Welte, 28, walked into the Comfort Inn and Suites on Buena Vista Road on Aug. 4 and handed the clerk a note demanding “give me all money.” According to the arrest citation, she used pepper spray during the robbery. Investigators say they lifted Welte’s fingerprint from the note.

Welte was already in jail on first degree robbery and theft by unlawful taking charges. She now faces an additional charge of second degree robbery.
