Truck-A-Palooza Nov. 16

(LFUCG)–The city is hosting a free touch-a-tuck event on Saturday, November 16 from 1pm to 4pm at 1631 Old Frankfort Pike. Truck-a-Palooza will feature over 20 trucks from the Department of Environmental Quality and Public Works plus crafts, games and giveaways.

“Truck-a-Palooza offers the public a rare opportunity to examine the vehicles our seven divisions use daily,” says Environmental Quality and Public Works Commissioner Nancy Albright. “Both kids and adults will find the afternoon fun and educational.”

Attendees can check out the view from the driver’s seat of a Waste Management truck and learn how the department uses a bucket truck. Drivers will be on hand to answer questions, and some will be performing “road-eo” demonstrations. A jobs table will be set up for those wishing to apply for employment with the department.

The 1 p.m. hour will be sensory-friendly, designed to offer a safe and welcoming experience for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Epilepsy, and other sensory sensitivities. Spanish interpreters will be available. The site is wheelchair accessible.

Refreshments will be available for purchase. Attendees should enter via Jimmie Campbell Dr. The rain date is Sunday, November 17.
